No one knows the origin of the woman who became Network, but what is known, is that she was discovered in an alley somewhere in Mechania's Mainframe City. With severed legs, forearms, and a partially-severed head, the woman was on the verge of death due to shock and blood loss. The region, known for the mechanical augmentation of it's population, turned a blind eye to her pain, as it was assumed a MediTech would nurse her back to health. It never came. As she lay dying in intense pain, the woman heard a noise nearby. Chuckling at the situation, was none other than the goddess Raizana. While tapping the woman's head with her boot, Raizana offered to grant her a new body...only, if she can display devotion to her. With one last manageable breath, the woman whispered "Hail Raizana", to the delight of the narcissistic goddess. Staying true to her word, Raizana whisked away the woman's body with a snap of her fingers...

Moments later, the once-mutilated woman's eyes opened...and all she saw, was digitized. In this world, she was mobile again, gliding along circuitry with blinding speed. Then, the lively digital world suddenly shut down. Everything became pitch black to the woman...yet somehow, she was still aware. Her eyes then opened again, and she found herself in a room surrounded by diagnostic machines...with Raizana watching over her. Subconsciously, the woman sat up - made possible by a shiny new body. In shock, the woman stood up, and saw Raizana approach her. As she went to embrace the goddess, the woman's arms hyperextended, then recoiled. Curious, she did it again...only this time, lasers fired from her fingertips. The goddess applauded, and overjoyed, the woman went to embrace her again. SLAP. The woman was struck down, as Raizana's smile became a scowl. "Network, what I give, I can easily take away", said Raizana. Almost instinctively, "Network" transformed her new body flat, and prostrated herself before of the goddess, accepting what she has become.

Network is a techno-organic being, possessing a brain augmented by a body comprised of trillions of nanomachines, but lacking all other vital organs. As a result, she does not require oxygen, food, or blood to survive. As she is also protected by her fast-responding body, Network is extremely difficult to harm, for any damage inflicted upon her is quickly repaired. Additionally, she can disassemble, and reassemble her body at will, with each part capable of operating without a direct connection to her brain. Network is also capable of processing information at an incomparable 5,000 zettabytes a second, allowing her to instantly assimilate or reconfigure any and all technology with "strike tech" from her body. If strike tech (such as a "strike wire") is successfully attached to a human, Network can either download information directly from their brain to hers, or ultimately transport the physical being of that person from reality to cyberspace, where she is virtually omnipotent.
